Naval Exercises Add Trillions of Pieces of Plastic Debris to Oceans

US Navy documents reveal massive amounts of toxic and plastic debris in the form of flares and radar-deceiving plastic being injected into the oceans — in addition to heavy metals and explosives — during exercises. Still, the Navy routinely claims none of its activities have significant impacts and produces its own research as proof.
